As you have already probably surmised through the photos of our outings, WE LOVE to EAT. Food Friends is an open group who meets a couple times a month and tries out a new restaurant. The LA Downtown area is popping up with a lot of new restaurants. This is a great way to sample new fare, and be exposed to new places, while getting to know your brothers and sisters in Christ, and fellowship in the Spirit at the same time.
To receive updates, come join our googlegroup! You may also send an email to j13foodfriends@gmail.com to subscribe. Please feel free in suggesting new places to go and new foods to try!
We also have a smaller, more hardcore group of Food Friends who love to eat but at odd hours. We call ourselves, "Late Night Food Friends." If you have a life that leads you to eat late, or if you have random urges for midnight snacks, this group is for you too. Please send an email to j13latenightfoodfriends@gmail.com. Don't be surprised if you get a text to go eat dinner at 11pm. :)

Suggestions for our next episode:
Honey Pig - Korean BBQ (K-town) - similar to Manna, but they have great ventilation so you don't smell awful when you leave. Higher quality meat compared to Manna also.
Luna Park - American (Mid-Wilshire) - has good fish and great mojitos. My favorites are their fancy shmancy mac and cheese, crab cakes and spaghetti and (lamb) meatballs.

Lulu's Cafe - American (Hollywood) - GREAT breakfast/brunch/lunch foods. Never tried it for dinner, but it looks OK.
Papa Cristo's - Greek (South LA) - I think "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" was shot here. Or the cast and crew came here all the time. But in any case, AMAZING gyros!
Yamashiro - Japanese (Hollywood Hills) - Pricey, but you pay for the food and the view - which are both pretty darn good.
Fish Grill - Seafood (Hollywood) - Not only is it fish only, it's KOSHER too! (tho I don't know if that makes a difference to us Catholics, hehe) Plus, since it's in Hollywood, there's the random star sighting if you're into that. We saw Cuba Gooding Jr. the last time we went. There's a funny story behind that one, hehe.
